On Tuesday my great grandfather and I embarked on a journey from Bergen along the Norwegian west coast all the way up to Kirkenes right next to Norway's boarder with Russia.
After flying to Bergen, we took our sweet cabins on board MS Nordkapp and have since enjoyed the many fjords, little islands and coastal towns on our way to the North.

We then went to explore my favorite town in Norway; Trondheim. It was my first time coming back after my semester at NTNU had concluded in 2013. I took my grandpa to my favorite places in the city and we enjoyed a lovely morning on the old part of the city.
Back on deck we sailed through more beautiful fjords until we reached the Arctic Circle. Whilst crossing it we had a cermony in which Njord, the God of the seas, paid us a visit. Everyone had to get ice water shuffed into the neck area.... it was freezing cold but a lot of fun!

We then explored Bodø und now we are headed for the famous Lofoten islands on our way to the Nordkapp - located only 2100km south of the North Pole!
Stay tuned for more impressions from our trip to the Nordkapp!
